- Windows Server 2019
- Riverbed Modeler software
A simulation environment enables research-development works including analysis and design of communication networks, devices and protocols. The simulation environment supports various networks and technologies, including DSL, ISDN, PPP, SLIP, SONET, ATM, CSMA, CSMA/CA, CSMA/CD, Ethernet (coax, 10baseT, 100baseT, 1000baseX, 10 Gbps), FDDI, IPv4, IPv6, HSRP, RSVP, FTP, HTTP, Self-Similar Traffic (RPG), Voice, VoIP – SIP, RTP, H.323 , Video, BGP, EIGRP, ISIS, OSPF, OSPFv3, PNNI, RIP, RIPng, Static routing, IGMP, PIM-SM, Static RP/Auto RP, 802.1p, CAR / Policing, CQ, DWFQ / CBWFQ, DWRR / MDRR / MWRR, FIFO, LLQ with Rate Limit, PQ, TOS / DSCP - based classification, WRED/ RED, Fiber Channel Frame Relay, LANE, Link Aggregation (including EtherChannel), Spanning Tree, Token Ring, VLAN Port-based (PVSTP, MSTP, RSTP), X.25, 802.11 DCF/PCF, HCF EDCA.
Riverbed Modeler allows for testing existing network technologies, as well as for creating custom devices and protocols, e.g. by implementing them in C/C++. It allows to design network diagrams and to perform detailed simulations of network infrastructure as a whole, including technologies, protocols, specific devices and applications used by end users. The available functionality enables changing the configuration of network components, as well as simulating the impact of device or link failures on the network. Additionally, it is possible to integrate the simulation environment with the physical network infrastructure.
The available environment enables you to accelerate Research and Development projects and optimize investments by testing and demonstrating technology designs before production.
