We encourage you to read the latest cybersecurity paper covering the issues of analyzing breaches of sensitive medical data in the USA. The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) are responsible for enforcing federal civil rights laws. The published study analyzed data collected by these institutions on healthcare data breaches involving over 392 million records in the USA from October 21, 2009 to April 19, 2024, using Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) and Elbow text mining methods. Five main areas of text mining analysis were identified. The analysis identified key reasons for breaches, which should then enable more effective remediation and increased awareness of medical data security.
