Lecture

On 21.10.2024 and 22.10.2024, Dr. Stanisław Skulimowski from the Department of Computer Science, Faculty of and Computer Electrical Engineering of the Lublin University of Technology gave presentations on the following topics:

  1. How linguistic measures can help reassemble broken objects (lecture)
  2. A method for searching for matches of 2D object images based on contour analysis using linguistic measures (scientific seminar)

The scope of the presentation (lecture and seminar) included a method in which the description of element edges using characters using a defined star of unit vectors allows the construction of 2D element matching algorithms based on the Levenshtein measure. A developed numerical method for finding possible ways to arrange two-dimensional elements was presented, using sequential metrics to compare elements. Preparation of optimized algorithms and their implementation for combining two-dimensional elements from the area of cultural heritage (museums, archeology)

The lecture entitled How linguistic measures can help assemble broken objects back together was given in English and was addressed to second-degree students, computer engineering.
