On October 2-13, 2018 our department was visited by professor Ionut Dragos Moldovan from Lisbon University. The purpose of the visit was the research collaboration on Trefftz methods.
Professor Moldovan gave invited lecture on "Trefftz finite elements and their applications" and presented FreeHyTE application developed by him and his co-workers. The software is a platform for the implementation of hybrid and Trefftz finite element formulations for elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic (initial) boundary value problems.
During the visit, various forms of future collaboration were also discussed.
