On December 13, 2204, the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Responsibility took place. The conference was held in a hybrid format. The in-person sessions were conducted at the Urban Lab in Rzeszów, while other participants, including those from Portugal, Brazil, and other countries, joined online. The primary goal of the conference was to foster a broad, transnational debate on future AI regulations concerning its responsibility, as well as to discuss the risks and potential opportunities for Smart City environments.
The main topics covered during the conference were:
- Criminal liability for violation of law by Artificial Intelligence Systems;
- Compensatory/Damage liability for infringement by Artificial Intelligence systems;
- Liability for Actions of Artificial Intelligence in International Perspective;
- Contractual limitation of liability for the actions of Artificial Intelligence;
- Artificial Intelligence and Infringement of Intellectual Property Rights;
- Responsibility of company and Artificial Intelligence Systems;
- Contractual responsibility of the State and Artificial Intelligence Systems;
- Ethical Artificial Intelligence;
- Data management and information analysis in the urban structure;
- Recognition of behaviour, objects and people;
- Analysis and recognition of technical and process anomalies;
- The use of technological solutions using AI in the city and responsibility.
The conference organizers were:
- Laboratory of Human Rights and Their Protection Bodies of the University of Rzeszów (Poland) IBEROJUR – Instituto Iberoamericano de Estudos Jurídicos seated in Porto (Portugal)
- Rzeszow University of Technology including the Regional Center of Excellence in Automation and Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications of the Rzeszów University of Technology (Poland).
- On behalf of the Department of Complex Systems of the Rzeszów University of Technology, the members of the scientific committee and participants of the conference were: Andrzej Paszkiewicz and Marek Bolanowski.
